FAQ + POLICIES
Most Tea Towels tops can be made up to bust 41-43", unless otherwise indicated. All tops are cropped. Longest length up to 18" from highest point of shoulder, unless otherwise indicated. If you want your top to be a little longer, we can lower the neckline, just note at check out. We recommend wearing them with your favorite high waisted bottoms. There is always an extended size option every drop (bust 43" - 60") but only if indicated. If you are purchasing a ext-size garment but your bust is under 43", you will still pay for the extended size rate. So read carefully prior to purchasing. Make sure to make note of your bra size at checkout. Measure at the widest part of your bust and we will add 1.5-2" around that for ease. You can also measure a top from armpit to armpit, flat and give us that measurement; ease will not be added to that.
Not doing so will delay your order!
If you are interested in adding length to your hem or sleeve, additional charges will apply. Send us a message directly for limitations or availability.
lead times + Refunds + SHIPPING
It takes up to 4 weeks for tops to be made. For dresses/jumpsuits/coats, up to 5-6 weeks. This could be more or less the time it takes to carefully finish all orders per drop. (Lead time varies during holiday periods so check the shop for the latest updates) Please allow a few extra days for handling + additional 3-5 days for US + Puerto Rico/Domestic shipping.
ALL SALES are FINAL. Please read descriptions and ask questions before purchasing. Items take a long time to hand make and for a small operation, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges.
International shipping available for the UK, Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy, Australia, Spain, Canada, S. Korea and Germany. For the UK, an automated VAT will be collected on your behalf which we will remit to customs. Send us an email if you want your country added. Expect international delays due to Covid-19. Check to make sure your country is accepting packages from the US. We will combine shipping, so send us an email below if you want to request a partial refund on multiple orders. Tracking will be provided by email once your piece is completed. We ARE NOT responsible for tracking your package or for lost mail. Returned packages will be sent back at buyer's expense.
CARE + materials
All tops are made from vintage materials and are HAND MADE. Due to the age of materials, spotting, staining and imperfections are to be expected. This will be disclosed as much as possible but be aware that your garments have a history!
For hand quilted sleeves, do not scrub or agitate as seams could come apart. Expect simple mending if some quilt seams loosen up the more you wear your garment. Don't panic! This is normal and part of owning a piece that is almost 70-100 years old! We are not responsible for damaged garments due to lack of care or normal wear and tear from use. Please read care instructions that come w/ your purchase to ensure a garment that will lasts your closet for generations to come. supply your own towel
Please check that you are purchasing the right price for your size. There are 2 separate listings for regular and extended sizing.
Upon check out and payment of "supply your own towel", send us an email with a photo of your towel with dimensions. You might need 2 towels if you plan on a longer or larger size top.
The base price is for the "Classic Puff Sleeve", which is the 3/4 sleeve/elbow length (measures 17" from bra strap to sleeve hem) and paired with a bandana (without overdye) or fabric yardage. Please indicate if you are interested in sleeve options from higher tier prices like quilted or embroidered fabric for sleeves. Quilt or embroidered sleeves could add $65-$150 to your base price due to demand of the fabric and mending for us. Labor like piecing materials and adding trim can also factor in additional charges. If you want to keep within budget (base price), please say so. This really helps to be productive of time and to avoid unnecessary sourcing and back/forth. Lengthening sleeves or adding ruffles will add to the price.
REMINDER: we are NOT your personal seamstress. We can not create your own design! We can only design based on the silhouette we currently offer. Lowering necklines and sleeve length adjustments are acceptable. We will not accept fabric that we feel doesn't look good together.
We know you'll appreciate this and we hope that you can trust our design expertise. If a customer becomes too demanding or have unrealistic expectations we reserve the right to cancel this order and charge for the time spent with sourcing.
Once we've agreed upon the towel, we will send you the address so you can ship your towel. It is recommended that you insure your package if the towel is rare or valuable. We are NOT responsible for tracking or lost packages. We will confirm receipt of your towel by email. Please allow a few days for us to come up with designs and we will send you sleeve options with prices when we have gathered materials. Once you approve of the combination, we will send you an invoice (if applicable) . Not paying promptly will delay your order. The lead time starts once payment is received and design is approved by us and you.
